In addition to following the news and calls to action regarding the war in Ukraine we have also spoken to LGBT+ activists from Ukraine and people in close contact with them. They are asking for two things: support for people in Ukraine and support for the military.

Here, we have compiled a diverse list of ways and organisations to support in Estonia, Ukraine, and Ukraine’s neighbouring countries where people are helping LGBT+ refugees. This list is not exhaustive and may change as we get new information. All references here are trustworthy.

SUPPORT LGBT+ UKRAINIANS

  • The European Pride Organisers Association (EPOA) is collecting donations for Kyiv Pride and Kharkiv Pride who are helping people on the ground and are arranging evacuations of LGBT+ people. It can be difficult as it is not possible to leave some cities, while others can’t escape as they don’t have a car or enough gas to reach the border. Many do not want to leave and want to protect their home instead. You can support all of them through the EPOA page.
